What Is Model Statistics?

In the Modelling Industry, Model Statistic is none other than the measurements of a model that any model agencies or any potential employers always want to know other than the looks.

Why?

While choosing a right Model for a particular project, body shape is considered as one of the most influential and critical points for making decisions whether to hire that model or not. But this doesn’t mean that for a good career in modelling you need to have a slim size zero measurement. In fact, many of the agencies and catalogue contracts don’t need size zero figures. You just need to be unique to fit into the required role of the project.

Think of it like this.

All together if an agency is looking a model for lingerie shoot it means the project probably have a particular bust size in mind.

Similarly is for clothing brands. It is trending for fashion chains to lead ‘petite’ & ‘tall’ lines to their collections, thus, clearly signifying that you are five foot tall will do you the world of good when it comes to finding short modelling work, going along to the same firm when you are six foot tall, however, will not.

So as an ambitious model career, what statistics should you be aware of?

Height

The most important statistic in modelling career is height. For some projects, height is a make or break detail, so agencies/employers who are interested can find out that information about you quickly. One of the bhttp://www.modellingmumbai.com/est examples of modelling where height is important is Catwalk Modelling where you need to have a height of at least 5’7’’ as a woman and 6’1’’ as a man (Height can differ according to the agencies to whom you applied. In Statistics, most of the model prefers to list their height on the top.

Weight

The following statistic is generally weight. Don’t forget that your weight is relative to your height so if you are 5’7’’ you are likely to weigh less than someone who is 6’1”. The essential thing when it comes to selecting out a model is that they are healthy and in proportion, not how bony and they are, so don’t try to compare or lie about your own. Listing your weight in statistics will give an agency a quick idea of your size. Do list this statistics in your portfolio as kilograms opposed to stones.

Bust

If you are women than your bust, or if you are a man than your chest.  While measuring this area of the body always do measure around the fullest part. It’s far more dependable to get someone else to measure you too, it means your body won’t be at funny angles holding a tape measure hence you’ll get a much more precise reading.

Waist

After finishing your torso measurement the next one you are then required to list your waist measurements. Measure your waist by locating the top of your hip bone and the last of your ribs, and then as you breathe out naturally, run your tape measure around your middle to take your measurement. Don’t breathe in at the same time as doing this, you will only be lying to yourself and producing difficulty to others when it comes to working for the model agency. Start doing the stomach exercise if you are really not happy with the measurements.

Hips

The next one is measuring onto your hips. Again, measure at the fullest part at the same time as keeping your feet shoulder width apart.

Shoe Size

Shoe size is vital for both men and women. If you are not fitting in one size or another it is suitable to list yourself as a half, for example, 10.5.

Men Only

Men also take measurements further which includes your inside and outside legs length as well as the size of the neck.

That’s not all!

Several models also choose to list their eye and hair colour, which isn’t required but is a good idea if your portfolio features black and white imagery or modern shots that modify the appearance of your features.

Tell the Truth

While stating your statistics, be honest. Writing improper measurements will only anger agents or future employers as of when you attain it will be obvious of the lie. Simply just input the original statistics of your body parts as they are.

Where Do I Include My Statistics

Generally, models include their measurements in a few different places depending on their personal preference. Your portfolio, online profiles and Z-Cards are a good place to start as employers will instantly be able to read the statistics.

The modelling agencies will usually ask for your measurements. Just follow we discussed before. Simply enter your statistics truthfully for the chance of being accepted.

Don’t Give into Pressure

There is a lot of stress in the modelling industry to appear a certain way with many hopefuls trying to achieve an unachievable figure via crazy diets. Please do not fall prey to these scams as it is very unhealthy. We’ve all heard of the diet coke diet, which starves off hunger but is extremely dangerous. Don’t do it!

Body activists are campaigning for a more diverse industry where ultra thin, tall models are not the norm. A modelling landscape which celebrates all sizes and shapes is the dream that is more or less at a slower rate becoming a reality.

Thus, eat a nutritious, healthy diet and implement a truthful exercise regime of around three times a week. Both will complement each other and allow for you to maintain a convincing figure.
